10/2024 Members' Meeting
Blankenburg, Castle Blankenburg

Day 1 of our #ESTAINIUM member meeting in the beautiful Harz region was filled with exciting updates on the growth of our network. We showcased the remarkable achievements of our four working groups and the outstanding progress we've made over the past six months in pilot projects and collaborations. The results are truly impressive!

We were honored to host everwave and our collaboration partner Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science e.V. as guest speakers, bringing even more inspiration to our discussions.

Key projects like Querétaro and Factory-X were presented, sparking valuable exchanges on how we can share our accumulated knowledge with a broader audience. Whether through a #chatbot or #podcast, the possibilities are endless. We concluded the day with a memorable castle tour and dinner, reminding us of the power of collaboration as we work toward climate neutrality.

Day 2 of the ESTAINIUM Member Meeting was a deep dive into Nature-Based Solutions—a key approach to #decarbonization. We explored how these solutions offer countless co-benefits, such as boosting #biodiversity, in alignment with the European Renaturation Directive, all without additional effort.

It’s no longer just about reducing greenhouse gases. We highlighted how carbon assessments in supply chains are just the beginning, with immense potential for growth—turning portfolio challenges into green champions. This proactive approach prevents greenwashing while driving innovation toward a climate-neutral economy.

To top it off, we took this conversation outdoors! An extended walk along the Teufelsmauer, complete with real digital twins, made transparency come alive in the fresh air. A big thank you to AARI Forest and BISONFOREST for sharing your insights with us!

We are overwhelmed by the impact we continue to make as ESTAINIUM. Special thanks to our new member Plättner Elektronik GmbH for hosting us in this incredible location! Here's to the collective strength of our members and the continued journey toward a greener future!

04/2024 General Meeting
Darmstadt, Merck

The first day of our General Meeting was fantastic! We started with official reports, approvals, and re-elections, welcoming two new board members, Rudolf Maier and Ulrich Grauvogel, to support ESTAINUM's growth. Our working group leaders reviewed last year's achievements and outlined future plans, showcasing our collective knowledge and capabilities. We were particularly impressed by the pilot demo from Working Group 1, which used verifiable credentials on a decentralized network to exchange WBCSD compliant PCF data, marking a significant step in enhancing transparency and traceability in environmental sustainability through blockchain technology.

After diving deeper into the history of our host, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, we embarked on an impressive factory tour through their "small town" of 12,500 employees, explored the Innovation Center, and learned about Merck's sustainability contributions. What an amazing company with over 300,000 products!

We then discussed progress at Factory-X and ESTAINIUM's leading role in the Carbon Footprint Management use case, with a focus on agile setup and first PI planning. We had lively exchanges on communication and marketplace topics, wrapping up with discussions on our unique Knowledge HUB and ESTAINIUM Growth.

A heartfelt thank you to all members for your participation and inspiring two days. It's great to see what we've achieved together in the past two years, and we're excited for what lies ahead!

04/2023 ESTAINIUM FIRST GENERAL MEETING & FIRST ANNIVERSARY
Hannover, Siemens during Hannover Fair

Square cake with decorations and a big blue one

One year ago,19.04.2022 16 companies founded the non-profit ESTAINIUM Association as an open and independent carbon offset network.

The idea of ESTAINIUM as an association is to build a global #ecosystem of business and science to actively address current and future challenges of product-based #decarbonization. ESTAINIUM members represent diverse roles in the future circular #carbon economy.

In this context, ESTAINIUM’ S vision is to establish a pathway from CO2 #emission to CO2 #sink along multi-stage production networks. In this way, a direct link between economic activities, climate-damaging impacts as well as compensation measures is created. The focus is on calculating, sharing, reducing and offsetting carbon footprints along the supply chain through decentralized trust technology and sovereign #data management.

What we have achieved so far at ESTAINIUM has only been possible through a high level of commitment from all members to build an increasingly better understanding on the topic of decarbonization, develop products in a CO2-neutral way and contribute to a better and more sustainable future.

10/2022 ESTAINIUM Association meeting
Amberg, THE IMPULSE, Siemens

ESTAINIUM and most of their foundingpartners met for 2 days on how to operationalize the industrial decarbonization. At THE IMPULSE in Amberg, Germany, more than 40 guests from 16 organizations gathered in person to discuss how to decarbonize the industrial supply chain in terms of "required technology and infrastructure," "standards and norms," and "carbon capture, use, storage and offsets.

As a result three working groups were defined for different tasks. They constantly work on theses tasks and meet regularly to ensure a clear and tangible result and to develop guidelines and solutions.
