Our meeting will take place on October Thursday 10th (arrival day), Friday 11th and Saturday 12th, 2024 in Blankenburg (Germany) at the Schlosshotel Blankenburg.
We invite you to attend our in-person meeting to take the association to the next level, dive deeper in the current topics, spend some time together and network.

Waste compensation
Waste Compensation by everwave (click here for more information)
everwave will take care of waste compensation for 40 people over 2.5 days. This means that the amount of waste generated during this time will be offset by everwave, who remove plastic waste from rivers and oceans. Together, we are helping to relieve the environment and reduce plastic pollution in our waters.
After lunch our guest speaker Krinstina Brantl will give us a presentation about cleaning up the envorinment.

Further information on the Saturday morning Natural history excursion
The morning event on Saturday is all about nature-based solutions, an important approach to decarbonization.
Nature-based solutions are particularly important in the transformation to a climate-neutral economy, as they open up numerous co-benefits, such as aspects of the European Renaturation Directive, without additional effort. The question of including other criteria in addition to greenhouse gas reduction, such as biodiversity, which has already arisen in the working groups, for example, does not need to be considered separately, as the promotion of biodiversity is inherent in many nature-based solutions.
Carbon assessments in supply chains should only be seen as the beginning of a further stage of reporting. These are accompanied by the constant risk of violating the requirements of the Green Claims Directive, and not just in marketing. At the same time, however, there is also the opportunity to turn problem children in the portfolio into strong candidates through consistent redirection. In this way, greenwashing prevention can be proactively pursued.
Exploring the topic of nature-based solutions enables ESTAINIUM members to view their products and services from the perspective of a changing procurement landscape. Here, nature-based solutions are directly linked to products and services.
In this context, nature-based solutions represent an effective internalization component, which we can look at using the practical example of an international raw materials processor with high transparency requirements.
Depending on the weather, we will do this during an extended walk and in accompaniment of real digital twins. So pack sturdy shoes and join us at the end to the Member Meeting in the fresh air.
